Granny’s Birth Academy’s Purple Pathways™ is our educational journeys designed to move birth workers & perinatal professions from passion to preparation, practice, and professional growth.
All GBA doula trainings will come with a certificate of training upon course completion. GBA trained doulas are welcome and encouraged to continue the Purple Pathway to gain a Certified status and badge.

Birth Doula Training

Our Birth Doula Training prepares doulas to provide knowledgeable, compassionate, evidence-based support throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and the immediate postpartum period. Through hands-on learning, GBA helps doulas understand not only what to do, but why—connecting birth knowledge to advocacy, maternal health, community-based care, and collaboration with healthcare professionals.

Granny’s Birth Academy’s Postpartum Doula Training prepares doulas to provide knowledgeable, compassionate, evidence-based support to families as they transition from birth into life with a new baby.
Our hands-on curriculum goes beyond helping with the baby. GBA prepares postpartum doulas to support the whole family—maternal recovery, infant feeding, newborn care, emotional wellness, family adjustment, education, and connection to healthcare and community resources.
Doulas learn not only what support to provide, but why it matters and when a family may need additional professional care.

Full Spectrum Doula Training

Granny’s Birth Academy’s Full Spectrum Doula Training prepares doulas to provide compassionate, evidence-based, person-centered support across the full reproductive journey—from fertility and pregnancy through birth, postpartum, loss, and other reproductive experiences.
Full spectrum doulas understand that every reproductive journey is different. GBA prepares doulas to meet individuals and families where they are with non-clinical physical, emotional, informational, and practical support while honoring autonomy, informed decision-making, culture, identity, and lived experience.
Our training equips doulas to confidently support a wide range of reproductive experiences while understanding the possibilities and boundaries of the doula role—including when to provide education, when to listen, when to advocate, and when needs require referral or escalation to an appropriate healthcare or community professional.

Sibling Doula Training

A GBA × The Better Together Collective Collaboration
Developed in partnership between Granny’s Birth Academy (GBA) and The Better Together Collective (TBTC), Sibling Doula Training prepares doulas to provide safe, nurturing, developmentally appropriate support to children during pregnancy, birth, postpartum, appointments, and other maternal health experiences.
Sibling doulas recognize that when a family welcomes a new baby, children are experiencing a transition too. Combining GBA’s expertise in maternal and family support with TBTC’s child-centered approach, this training prepares doulas to create supportive environments where children can feel safe, included, engaged, and cared for while their parent receives the care and support they need.
